Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-18-09  Bridgeburner:

Moscow 1925 was one of the two low points of Rubinstein's tournament career. His placement in the field of 21 players was =12th (with Boris Verlinsky (who inflicted Capablanca's only defeat and was the first and only <Grandmaster of the Soviet Union>) and Spielmann), scoring 9½/21 (+7 =5 -8). Karlsbad 1923 was an equally poor result coming 12th out of 18 players

Capablanca on the other hand was third with 13½/21, behind Bogolyubov (15½/21 and Lasker (14/21).

Feb-17-13  ColdSong: Sometime the great cuban did not seem concerned about the concept that white is supposed to prove something like an edge.
