chancho: After 41.Ke1, Black has the choice of losing a Rook, or getting mated.

plang: This opening does not really suit Polgar's style as she gets little counterplay. However Kramnik had defeated her Kings Indian on several occasions prior to this game. Opening is mis-categorized; it transposes to a main line of the Bogo-Indian (E11) after 8..b6. Seirawan questions the whole set-up saying it is illogical for black to exchange dark squared bishops (and losing a tempo to boot). After 13 c5 Kramnik has a large positional advantage; Polgar probably should have tried ..c5 earlier. Seirawan criticizes the queen exchange 28..Qf6 saying that black has almost defensive chances after that.

keypusher: Wow. Bishops don't get much worse than Black's after ...a6. It speaks well of Kramnik that he manages to make Judit Polgar look like a (positional) beginner in this game.
