Jul-30-04  DanielBryant: Could White have held on longer by not exchanging rooks on move 36th?

tpstar: Probably, although White's pieces sure don't have much play! At least leaving the Re2 in place would prevent the Black King from crossing to the Queenside, so perhaps 36. Kg2 waiting instead and allowing 36 ... Rxe2 37. Rxe2 like you said. Even though Black stands better, it seems like White just falls apart at the very end getting lost in a hurry.
Mar-20-18  Howard: This game was annotated in the first issue of CL&R that I ever received---March, 1975.

Jonathan Sarfati: An early example of the Benko Gambit with the modern move order up to move 4, and a great scalp.
