Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-29-08  HSS: A point that was made about this game was that here was a case where a former world champion (Spassky) had a virtually lost position after just 15 moves without making any obvious mistakes.
Nov-19-11  AnalyzeThis: I think he should have played 8.... Bxf3.
Nov-19-11  King Death: <HSS> and <AnalyzeThis> The place where Black could have improved was with 12...Bc5. I agree that was he was in big trouble after giving up the two bishops and a backward pawn in the game itself.
May-21-17  edubueno: BS salió a buscar pleitos y terminó sobrepasado porque LP no se metió en los líos de la jugada Cd5 y su lugar jugó sencillamente Cb5!

woldsmandriffield: Total control by Portisch. Spassy's last real chance was 14..Bc5 giving up a pawn under relatively advantageous circumstances eg 15 Qxd8 Rexd8 16 Nxc7 Rac8 17 Bxf6 gxf6 18 N7d5 f5 with prospects of activating the two Bishops.
Dec-26-18  Howard: Keep up those comments, Woldsmandriffield!
