Honza Cervenka: Terrible game from black's side. The opening looks dubious and in the final position white has many ways to win. Crafty's line is fine but it is not the only one possible. For example, 16.Nxd5 cxd5 17.c4 with next 18.cxd5 and 19.Rc1 is also sufficient.

  Honza Cervenka: If 16.Bb5 cxb5, then 17.Nxd5 Bxd5 18.Qxd5 Qxd5 19.Rxd5 with next 20.Bc7 and 21.Rd8#.

FSR: A really putrid game by Quinteros, and no advertisement for the rare Katalimov Variation (2...b6?!).

  FSR: Interesting. After 2.Nf3, Houdini 3 gives 2...Nc6 as +.22, and 2...b6 as +.53. After 8.Qf3, White is already virtually winning (+1.47), and after 8...Qd4? he's dead-won (+3.10).
Apr-09-16  john barleycorn: 6....Rc8 delays development of black's kingside

7....dc? White gains valuable time. 7....Bxc6 looks better
