Apr-19-05 | | tjshann: This was not too tough. It's dangerous to have your Queen sitting on the diagonal in front of your King with the opponent's Bishop ready to boogie. |
Apr-19-05 | | fgh: Comical end. |
Apr-19-05
 | | cu8sfan: Very nice! Beautiful how the pieces stack up in one diagonal in the end. |
Apr-19-05 | | cjhasbrouck: This one seemed easier than Monday. |
Apr-19-05 | | prinsallan: Pretty Easy, but with the important lesson that never have the queen in front of the king ever, as <tjshann> pointed out. |
Apr-19-05 | | BlazingArrow56: Open center and bishop pair domination. |

Apr-19-05 | | aw1988: Thank God it's Tuesday! |

 | | Richard Taylor: yes I saw this one quickly(a deflection and then a pin) and also attack on c6 etc - just put another game by Rogers in my collection - in the 1. e4 e6 2. Nc3 Nd7 3. Nf3 Ngf6 4. Nxf5 etc very sharp game by Rogers (look on the Opening Explorer)-or my collection |
Apr-19-05 | | mymt: 1.e4 e6 2.Nc3 Nd7? doubt it. |
Apr-19-05 | | hintza: 32...Ne6 33.Qg3 |
Apr-19-05 | | ransom: thanks hintza, I just saw it before you posted. |

 | | kevin86: <sourcerer>Whatlanguage is that? Esparanto? At one time, black has rook, queen, and king on the same row, facing white's bishop and queen-shisha bob at its finest!! |
Apr-19-05 | | ChessMan94: White to play and win. All puzzles seem to be of that type. What ever happened to Black to play and win?! |
Apr-19-05 | | Shubes82: black to play and win is awkward on this viewer because you have to visualize it upside down. im always forced to set up the pieces on a black to play and win day then i am tempted to shuffle pieces around. |
Apr-19-05 | | hintza: Looking at it "upside down" can be good practice for spotting the opponent's possible combinations as if you were playing an actual game. |
Apr-19-05 | | LIFE Master AJ: Good combo. A simple defelction theme, but highly effective. |
Apr-19-05 | | Shokwave: This was pretty easy...the Queen in front of the King begged to be skewered, and the Rook was the only defender of e5...so make it move. I think I'm getting better at this. |
Apr-19-05 | | Knight13: I like this puzzle. |
Apr-19-05 | | LIFE Master AJ: Since I don't always get this ... I think I am going to start doing these on a daily basis. It looks like a VERY good way of polishing (sharpening) your tactical skills. |
Apr-19-05 | | riqhi: oops, I missed this one. |
Apr-19-05 | | kualle: Year it was indeed not that hard.
First one is looking for a matecombination. Then is it how to bring the queen in danger... And comically: Then you combine the two of them, you are cabable of solving this puzzle :-) |
Apr-19-05 | | aw1988: <LIFE Master AJ> Actually, that reminds me, you have a puzzle on your website, you should also do some of those, and from things like CT ART 3.0 to improve your skill, as well. Incidentally, where do you get the puzzles? |
Apr-19-05 | | fuoco: Hi everyone!! It's my first kibitz! :) I know I'm not very good, but I'm just wondering if someone could explain to me what would happen if for his 32nd move, black made Ne6? Perhaps follow by 33) Qg3 - Qd8. And black just accepts being down a bishop. Is there a mate coming that soon that black should just give up? |
Apr-20-05
 | | tpstar: <fuoco> Hello! Welcome to the group! You're right that Black loses a piece after 32 ... Ne6 33. Qg3 Qd8 34. Bxd6+ and White easily wins the endgame (thus Black Resigns) but there's no mate after 34 ... Kb7. I wonder how White would proceed after 29 ... Ne6 instead. See you around. |
