Apr-13-05  Shams: I think black meets 19.Rxc6 with ...Bf7. I don't see a sufficient 20th move for white.

samvega: I was thinking 19.Rxc6 Bf7 20.Qd6 Qxd6 21.Rxd6. Now white's rook is trapped, but black is a bit tied up too...
Apr-13-05  Shams: maybe. after 21...Rd8 and the trade of rooks white's two pawns for the piece are pretty weak. I don't think he can hold the game.
Nov-15-15  patzer2: White's entire plan with 12. Qe2?! and thereafter is flawed, as Black can play 12...Bxc2 and safely snatch the pawn with advantage.

Instead, White can keep it level with 12. Bb3 =.

White's attempt to win back the sacrificed piece by pinning and winning the Bishop on e7 is thwarted by the delayed castling move 23...0-0! (-4.21 @ 22 depth, Deep Fritz 14), which safely unpins the King and enables Black to keep his extra piece with decisive advantage.

In the final position, play might continue 24. Bxe7 Rxf3 25. Bh4 Rxh3 (-4.50 @ 21 depth, Deep Fritz 14).
