Chessical: Schlechter played this set up differently as Black J Perlis vs Schlechter, 1908 preferring the manoeuvre N <e7> - <g6> to an early <b5>

Tarrasch plays inaccurately in response to Schlechter stationing a Knight on <f5>. Schlechter had the strong move <16. Bg5!> Qe6 or (16... Nd7 17. Ne7+ Kh8 18. Nd5) 17. Qd2 Bb6 18. f4; with advantage.

<17f4> was Schlechter's last chance to avoid a draw as White; Tarrasch was scarcely likely to blunder with <18... Rxg8?> 19. Qh6+ Kh8 20. Bg5
