Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-08-04  Jim Bartle: Shirov: "34. Rf4?? Throwing a good game away."

Nice defense by Shirov (to have seen 38...Rf7) to avoid the mate after winning the rook on e1.

Nov-08-11  Albertan: According to Shirov in his analysis of this game in 1994 issue #7 of New In Chess Magazine the move 27.g6! is a theoretical novelty for the position! Nikolic and Shirov had followed the game P Nikolic vs Bareev, 1994 for the first 26 moves of the game! I wonder if this is a record for the latest move in a game which is a novelty?
