Dec-30-06  notyetagm: Wow, Nigel uses the <GRECO MATE> pattern to win a miniature against Ivan Sokolov.
Dec-30-06  notyetagm: Anyone know the time control for this game? Thanks.
Dec-30-06  DaveyL: Quite similar to Short vs Huebner, 1990

Same moves up to 17. Nfg5 - Huebner tried ...h6 and got clobbered, Sokolov plays ...f6 and gets clobbered even faster!

May-23-07  DaveyL: You have to wonder about Sokolov's prep for this game. If he was going to play the Ruy, surely he should have considered a Worrall Attack from Nigel and checked out those games? Or did he really think his 17. ...f6 was an improvement on Huebner's ...h6?

FSR: I tried to submit the pun <Short Work> for this game, but someone beat me to it.
