Honza Cervenka: Quite modern looking and very good game by Showalter. 13...Nxc4 seems to be a mistake. 13...f4 was probably the best chance to equalize the position, for example 14.Bd2 Qg6 15.Nf3 Nxc4 16.Qxc4 Qxg2 17.Qxc7 Bg4 18.Qxe7 Rae8 19.Qc7 Qxf3 etc.

MissScarlett: Appears to be the only game from the tournament collection without the correct round/date details, but as the corresponding game (Halprin vs Showalter, 1898) from the first half took place in round 2, this should be round 21 and dated July 1st. If anyone has the tournament book, or other trusted source, please confirm.
