  plang: After 6 d5 a position resembling the Kings Indian arises with White's queenside play looking a bit slow. Smyslov was critical of 18 Bd3 saying the bishop was more effective on e2 as a defender; he recommended 18 Rac1 instead. 22 Bg6..Rg7 23 Bxh5..Nf6 24 Bg4..Nxg4 25 fxg..Qc8 26 f3..Nxf3+ would have been powerful for Black. 29 Qg6+..Ng7 30 Ne4..Rf5! 31 Ng5..Rxf5 32 Qxg5..Rc2 33 Ba3..Rxf2 34 Rag1..Rxg2 35 Rxg2..Qd1+ 36 Rg1..Qxd5+ 37 Rg2..Qxb3 would also have been strong for Black. 37 Re1? was a blunder but Black's positional advantage was clear by that point.
