Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-26-04  Whitehat1963: What's the finish?
Dec-26-04  azaris: The finish is Black realizing he's got a horrible position and he's playing against Smyslov.
Dec-26-04  Whitehat1963: Fine, but what happens after, say, 35...Be7?
Dec-26-04  azaris: For example:

35...Be7 36. Nxf7! Kxf7 37. Ne5+ Kg7 38. Qb3 and the rook is lost.

Dec-26-04  Whitehat1963: Thanks for the analysis, <azaris>; my vision is somewhat limited to put it mildly, and I don't have a chess engine at the moment.

Gregor Samsa Mendel: <azaris> In your line black gets two pieces for the rook after 38...Rxb2. I was thinking of 35.Nb6, and if 35...Qc7 36.Rd7, or 35...Qb8 36.Qb3.
