nasmichael: White's advance is not easily stopped--and when these two ended the game, how long had it taken to arrive at this position? I just read the enjoyable book by Bronstein and Smolyan called <<Chess In The Eighties>> which makes mention of time graphs in master games. I would be curious of times taken per move (if anyone knows how I might be able to find this documented) and see how long it was taking for decisions to be made. Even anecdotal observations might help a bit.
May-09-09  jerseybob: This game was decided early. After black's 5..cxd5?(Keene in Flank Openings gives 5..Bxf3 first as the move), Smyslov's 6.Ne5! gives a big edge.
Aug-12-21  ndg2: The most remarkable (and maybe difficult move) for white was actually the bishop 16. Bd2 retreat with the idea e3, Bf1 with white square control, as GM Daniel King points out in this book review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTC...
