Smyslov's knight is threatened. He decides to play
20...Nxf2!?
Hubner didn't take it. Stockfish 8 thinks he could have:
21. Kxf2 Bh4+
22. Ke3!

That looks good for White.

Hubner in any case won the exchange, but he was then outplayed by his ancient opponent, and a draw resulted.

Jun-26-18  Howard: Chess Life remarked after the 19th move, that Hubner's position should almost "play itself" at that point, mainly due to Black's weak pawns. But Smyslov's creative knight sacrifice on the the 20th move, definitely changed the position.

As CL pointed out, it was one of three knight sacrifices that Smyslov was to make in this match.

Feb-18-19  edubueno: Habría que ver cómo estaba de tiempo HUBNER, porque después de Rxf2! la partida se termina rápido.
