Apr-21-07  M.D. Wilson: Wow, nobody has commented on this game! It's a dogged affair, but nevertheless illustrates Spassky's universality.
Apr-21-07  arnaud1959: Very instructive game. It shows Spassky's endgame skill, how he plays the middle game and thinks about transposing it to an endgame with the best pieces for him to leave on the board.

paulalbert: I am surprised that Matulovic did not resign after 73. Nxf3, or even sooner, since Spassky gets a highly favorable Lucena type position with Black's King miles from the white Pawn. Paul Albert

perfidious: <Paul> You aren't the only one-I looked at this game elsewhere and was going to say something of the sort myself.

J'adoubovic never got his kingside pawn majority going, a factor which White exploited with filigree technique.
