  woldsmandriffield: 21..Bxh3! was a nastly little combination - the point being if 23 Rd2? Bh6 and a pile-up along he c1-h6 diagonal.

23..h5!? rather than capturing on f3 immediately, was worth considering. White is effectively forced to reply 24 Rh1 when 24..Rxf3! 25 gxf3 Bxf3 26 Rde1 Bh6+ 27 Kb1 Bd2 28 Ref1 Bxh1 29 Rxh1 h4 30 Bh2 follows. It looks promising but Spassy obviously didn't fancy it.
