Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-21-14  zanzibar: Larsen had a very good year in 1967, and it would have been a little better if he had won this round.

Going into the round he was in 3rd place, one point behind the Soviet co-leaders. Lutikov played a short draw, and with this victory, Spassky was almost guaranteed the tournament win going into the last round.

zydeco: This game reminds me of Spassky vs Fischer, 1966. Spassky gets a nice space advantage against the Grunfeld and turns it into a kingside attack. Fischer defended a little better and at least made it out of the middlegame. In the final position there's no defense against Rh3 and Nh6 when the knight delivers a discovered check.
