Jun-10-05  sibilare: That hurts... 46 ..... ♔g2
Jun-10-05  fgh: 46. ... Kg7 does not matter much, black is not far away for zugzwang at that point.
Jun-10-05  sibilare: Quite the defensive position for black... Other then 46.. ♔g7 probably 46... ♘b8...
Jun-11-05  vonKrolock: Spraggett "al sugo" or "al triplo burro" ?!

IMlday: Suttles improves on then theory Smyslov vs Fischer, 1970
Jun-30-06  Maynard5: It is interesting to compare Suttles' play with that of Smyslov in the game noted above. Suttles correctly realizes that he cannot exchange Black's dark square bishop immediately, so instead places his bishop on g1 where it will support the subsequent advance of the d-pawn.

IMlday: Exchanging ♗s would eliminate the possible 2♗s vs ♗&♘ advantage. I like the way the board strips down the pawns, a, b, c, d, yet Black ends up very crowded after the simplification. Suttles was pretty awesome that Summer of '73. He shared first in the U.S. Open in Chicago, won the big Montreal Swiss and this Canadian Open in Ottawa.
Nov-30-08  Sem: After 35 moves half of the board is cleared.
