ToTheDeath: Bold king walk against one of the greatest attacking players of the day.

Kavalek said in a recent interview that after the game Pachman shouted at him, "You have insulted the Soviet chess school! You don't play like this against Soviet players!"

Jul-07-09  wanabe2000: Seems from his profile that Kavalek didn't become a IM, let alone a GM, until 1965!

ToTheDeath: Yes but he was already Czech champion.
Jul-07-09  Granny O Doul: Pachman, ever the loyal communist.

ToTheDeath: Pachman's views changed after the Prague Spring of 1968, when Soviet tanks rolled into his country.
