Nov-28-06  luzhin: For any other player this would be the brilliancy of a lifetime. For Tal, just another day at the office. On the day that Kramnik blundered into a mate in one against Deep Fritz, I want to say this: computers might become unbeatable, but no computer will ever be able to play like Tal.
Aug-03-08  ToTheDeath: Lovely combination. The position after 27.axb3 would make an excellent Sunday puzzle.

The sole purpose of this sac appears to be to force the white queen on to the e2 square, because <Tal> saw a six move forced combination ending with the skewering, and winning of the queen:

This combination won a "special prize."

Jul-26-20  Albion 1959: A brilliant imaginative player, who held the world title for barely one year and died at 55. The light that burns so brightly, burns for only half as long !!
