Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-21-05  Whitehat1963: Why is this over? Is the game score correct?
Aug-21-05  Shams: the pawns are murderous, c6 next and trading queens on b2 doesn't solve the problem. Great game by Topalov! 7...a5 was dubious.
Aug-21-05  Happypuppet: c6 isn't possible after Ba7 though.
Aug-21-05  Shams: no, I was looking at ...Bd8. If 26...Ba7 then 27.b4 adds a third connected passer to white's collection.

  tpstar: White stays 2 Pawns up after 26 ... Ba7 27. d6 Ra8 (27 ... Rc8 28. b4) 28. Kg2, or 26 ... Bd8 27. d6 Qxb2? 28. Qxb2 Rxb2 29. Ra8, or 26 ... Bc7 27. d6 Bd8 28. c6. Relatively best is 26 ... Bxc5+!? 27. Qxc5 Qxb2 28. Rd1 and White wins easily.
