Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-26-04  morphynoman2: I dont understand the commentaries to this game. Who's the author? 22... Rg4 is not "an enterprising move" but a terrible blunder. Is this ironic?
Feb-26-04  TrueFiendish: But he has no real choice because neither Be7 nor Nd7 (to meet Rxf6 threat) are playable, and Rg6 suffers from Qxe5. Must be ironic for "22...resigns is better."
Jul-02-06  who: 22...Rg4?? is a shocking blunder for a player of Vidmar's strength.
Jul-20-08  ahmadov: Yes, 22...Rg4 is a bad blunder...

Phony Benoni: On the contrary, 22...Rg4 is a good blunder. It lost immediately, which is what a blunder is supposed to do.
Mar-29-09  WhiteRook48: this should be the Passed Pawn variation
Mar-29-09  WhiteRook48: 22... Rg4 is not speculative
Nov-27-10  Xeroxx: Double game: Tartakower vs Vidmar, 1907
Aug-22-11  Tigranny: morphynoman2, the author is Mikhail Chigorin. But I agree with you on 22.Rg4??. It is not speculative at all. It's a blunder to lose material.

keypusher: It's not from Chigorin. Many games in the database were submitted with comments from Fritz or some other engine, and this looks to be one of them. Hence the repeated note "A speculative move (!?)."

As far as I can tell the only genuine comments from Chigorin are at moves 8 and 10.

Aug-22-11  Tigranny: Sorry keypusher and morphynoman2. It said annotations by Mikhail Chigorin below the board.

keypusher: <tigranny> It is not you who should apologize but whoever submitted the game with the fritz comments.
Mar-06-12  andrewjsacks: Someone should modify the ridiculous notes appended to this game.
Mar-06-12  paul1959: Even Chigorin's comments are dated as well: After 9... Qf6 (or 9 Qg4 Qf6) ECO gives as equal the whole variation beginning with 6 ef6.

Penguincw: I never saw a game with 3 "speculative" moves before. ;)
