Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-27-05  chesscookie: What a beautiful game.
Jun-04-06  KingG: Torre had a winning attack after 21...Bxh3!, but went wrong with 26.Rf6?. It was necessary to immediately bring the other knight into the attack with 26...Ng5. For example 26...Ng5 27.Ra3 Ngxf3 28.Bxf3 Nxf3 29.Qg2 Rac8! 30.Rxf3 Rc1+ 31.Nd1 Rxd1+ 32.Bg1 Qh4+ 33.Rh3 Qg4

Larsen could also have won more qickly with 33.Qc8+! Rf8 34.Qxb7 , and the a-pawn can't be stopped, while Black's attack is going nowhere since the bishops and rook cover all the key squares around the king.

Feb-05-08  jovack: Great game, close call for Larsen.

I think Torre had him though after the bishop sacrifice. He should have brought both knights to support the queen, instead of the rook lift which allowed Larsen to wriggle his way out of a tricky situation.
