Dec-26-09  parisattack: <schnarre> Thanks for the compilation of St George games. I certainly think it is as good as Owen's - perhaps better?

It is a mistake to judge the St G by the first move. There are no threats at move one, so it makes more sense to judge the position after at least three or four moves.

My first experience with 'flexible' openings was the Kan Sicilian where Black grabs space whilst he can and there are no threats to his lack of very early development.
