Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-07-06  Leviathan: What happens after 26. .. ♖xc8+ ♖xc8 ?
Very nice play by black, anyway :)
Aug-07-06  THE pawn: There is no way to prevent mate after Qa4+ and Qa2#
Aug-07-06  AniamL: But if Qa4+ then Kxa4 if black's rook is on c8. I don't see a mate anywhere (I'm probably missing it), but white's position is obviously hopeless. I probably would have played 26...Qa4+ 27. Kb(c)2 Qa2+ winning the queen.

Richard Taylor: I thin the score is wrong my guess is Black's last move was Rfb8 as Rxc8+ now and White is probably winning. Or White an out of time?
Premium Chessgames Member
Richard Taylor: No 26. ... Qa4+ wins which is probably what Black played.

But in the final position White wins with 27. Rxc8+ and 26. ... Rfb8 loses to 27. Bxa8...

So the score is probably wrong...or White resigned thinking she was lost.
