Kibitzer's Corner
May-16-06  prinsallan: I cant find the reason why black gave up here, can anyone please help me to figure it out...

pawn to QB4: I don't think anything dramatic's happening that's suddenly changed things so resignation's required now but wasn't three moves before. But the Black d-pawn's going after 21...d5 22.Nf6+ or 21...Nc4/g4 22.Bg5, and he knows he hasn't got enough for the piece. Imagine if he could play 21...d5, hits knight and then 22...d4: that'd be real compensation and he's been hoping against hope to get that in. But after 21.Ne4 it ain't going to be happening and it's time for a beer. Maybe more than one.
