plang: This line looks shaky for Black as not only will he have to spend extra time "castling by hand" but his kingside dark squares will be weak after his dark-squared bishop is gone. 17 h4 had been played in Pelletier-Mueller Germany 1998 (White won); 17 Nd4 was new. 18..g5?! was too weakening; 18..g6, 18..Ba6 and 18..Nd7 were suggested as alternatives. Milov said that 23 Rf2 with the idea of doubling rooks would have been a stronger way of conducting the attack. 25..hxg? was a blunder losing quickly; 25..Kg8 was the best defense with only a small edge after 26 Nf3..Bxf3 27 Qxf3..hxg 28 Bxa7..Qxb2 29 Qd1..Qxa2 30 Bb6..Qa8 31 Bxd8..Qxd8 32 Qd4..Qe7 33 Rb1. Black resigned due to the threat of Qh6+ followed by Bh6+.
