Feb-10-10  alexrawlings: Leonard Barden writes in tonight's London Evening Standard:

<Today's puzzle (with white to move at move 10) shows how even a simple opening position can be hard to assess. Both experts were internationally ranked, and each thought he had set a clever trap. The move for debate is 10 Bg5, which at first glance simply traps the black queen. But does it on a deeper look actually win, draw or lose? If you can spot the main line a few moves ahead which provides the answer, your chess vision is excellent.>

I saw that black would play 10..Bxf3 however I didn't see 11 Qc1, which is winning as black will either lose his queen or be mated by the queen on c8, eg 11.. Bb4+ 12 Kf1 Qxd4 13 Qc8+ Qd8 14 Qxd8#

I think this would make a nice Wednesday puzzle with white to move at move 10.
