Nov-18-06  Trader19: the rook sac initiated by 13...Bxf3 leads to an equal position. The fatal mistake is 20.Bc1?? but the reason isn't obvious.
Nov-18-06  abcpokerboy: <trader>, it's not a rook sac, it's an exchange sac to get the white queen trapped out of play.
Dec-29-06  notyetagm: One of my favorite trapped queen games.
Apr-17-08  fictionist: I think this is home preparation by Kasparov contrary to just saying that it's just a mere rook sac.
Jun-03-09  WhiteRook48: maybe 16 Qxf8+ may give white a better deal

perfidious: Bet Kasparov enjoyed this miniature as a measure of retribution against his former trainer.

This is an interesting example of the light-square control Black may gain in the Nimzo when giving up his dark-squared Bishop.

Mar-03-21  Gaito: A curiosity: Vladimirov and Kasparov played two rapid games on September 18, 2001, and both games were miniatures, but the odd thing was that in both games Vladimirov made exactly the same losing mistake, which was to undevelop a Bishop from Queen Knight's two square back to its original square (Bishop one square). Look at the two diagrams below:

WHITE TO PLAY AND LOSE.
Solution: 20.Bc1?? (Correct was 20.Rac1, and if 20...Qxa2?, then 21.Qxc6 Qxb2 22.Qb7±, or else 20...Rb8 21.Qd7 Rd8 22.Qb7=). Now the critical position from the other game:

BLACK TO PLAY AND LOSE:
Solution: 17...Bc8? (Correct was 17...b3! 18.cxb3 Nc6 19.Qh4 h5 20.Qg3 Kg7⩲)
