whiteshark: <17.Re6???> played after only 1 minute thinking.

After <17. Bxd5+ cxd5 18. Re6!> it is said that Suat Atalik already analysed it til the end to a white win.

plang: 16 Qe2 had been played first in Polgar-Onischuk 1999 European Championship in Bathumi and a short draw had resulted after 16..Nf6; 16..f5 was new and was voted the best opening innovation in Informant 84.

This is White's best continuation but the 7 games played with it have all resulted in draws.
