May-19-04  Whitehat1963: Why is this over? This looks like a puzzle.
Jan-08-05  DocNZ: This was a 2 game KO format. Zhang held Karpov to a 2 game draw. Then followed a 2 game rapid tie break. Karpov lost this game on time. His flag fell while is was about to make is move is a drawn (maybe ) position. This must have affected Karpov somewhat, he lost the next game also in a 45 move Giuoco Piano. Zhang moved on to the next round winning 3:1 to play Evgeny Pigusov of Russia but got crushed 2:0. Ponomariov eventually won against Ivanchuk 4.5:2.5
Dec-02-09  hedgeh0g: Is this really a "notable" game?
Oct-11-12  keithbc: it surely is notable for the result...
