plang: 17..f5 is a very sharp line that was played 3 times by Karpov against Kasparov in their 1990 title match (in this game it is 19..f5 due to a repetition in the opening). White did not get enough for the exchange after 24 Ndf3?!; better was 24 Rf3. The alternative 28..gxh 29 Rxe4..Rxe4 30 Bxe4..d5 31 Nf6+..Kg7 32 Nxd5..Re8 33 f6+..Kh8 34 Ne7!..Qxe4 35 Nxe4..Rxe4 would have led to an unclear position.
