Jun-30-11  LIFE Master AJ: White was winning, better was 26.Bf5+, and 27.QxP/d4+. (etc.)

perfidious: 26.Bf5+ is a nice shot and indeed winning.
Jul-01-11  LIFE Master AJ: The following was the game of the day. (I Efimov vs Shirov, 1991, Wednesday, June 30th, 2011.)

I spent several hours ... trying to make sense of current theory ... I think all I managed to succeed at ... was giving myself a headache.

I even got so discouraged as to look at MCO. (This game was apparently the main line. [See MCO-15, page # 35, column #11.]

[BTW, I am not belittling MCO, I was just disappointed that all the books dedicated to the Two Knights, (or even The Wilkes Barre); were either too old ... or not specific enough for me.]

Jul-01-11  LIFE Master AJ: Yes - I also used ChessBase, Fritz 12 gets credit for finding the missed win here.
