Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-13-05  rndapology: 24...Rxa2!!
Jun-10-05  DanRoss53: Why 10. ♗f4?? and why *not* 25. ♔xa2?!

I could go for some Fried Liver right now...

Jul-03-05  MayanKing: Good questions. I believe 10.Bf4 was played to open king file to rooks but I do not see a chessic reason for this. For example, I think is better 10....Kd7 11. Bxd5 Nxd5 12. Nxd5 cd 13. Qxd5+ Ke8 14. Qe4 with even chances. As far as I can see 10.Bf4 seems to be a mistake, note: 10....ef 11. Qxf4 Kd7 12. Bxd5 Nxd5 13. Nxd5 cd and I do not see compensation for Bishop.
Jul-03-05  MayanKing: As for 25. Kxa2 Ra8+ 16. Kb1 Qa5 17. Na4 Nd-e3 18. Rd3 Qd5 and after 19. Qe4 Qxe4 and black has edge.
Sep-30-06  neilmcmurdo: 10. Bf4 is awful. 10. Bg5 and black has a lot to think about.
Oct-29-06  Monoceros: Another line is 10. Qe4, pinning the Black KP and preparing 11. Bf4, as in this game: D Shirley vs J Kay, 1983

White seemed to take it for granted here that he'd have a permanent initiative against the Black King. With moves like 23. Re6+ and 25. g4 he continued his Kingside advance even though it was now useless. I suppose the lesson is that just because you've driven the King into the centre doesn't mean you've automatically won.

May-05-09  WhiteRook48: 10 Bf4??
