Benzol: E Saunders could be Elaine Pritchard under her maiden name.
May-15-07  SBC:

Elaine Prichard, born Elaine Zelia Saunders on January 7, 1926, was a 3 time British Women's Champion (1939, 1940, and 1946), winning the championship for the first time when she was only 13. She married David Pritchard, also a strong player. I believe she's still alive.

In the above game Elaine, then 10 years old, is playing against her father, Harold. She's playing blindfold.

May-16-07  vagrantlike: The chess news yeterday on chessgames homepage provides a brief introduction of her with her photo.Somehow I missed the link...
May-04-11  gauer: SBC <In the above game Elaine, then 10 years old, is playing against her father, Harold. She's playing blindfold.> There's about a 50 year difference in age between the pair of these players. Perhaps she is playing an uncle or grandparent?!

Tabanus: <gauer> That won't be easy to find out :)
Apr-17-16  luftforlife: <SBC> <Tab>: This game may have been played between Elaine Zelia Saunders and Harold Saunders, or it may have been played between Elaine Zelia Saunders and her father, Henry de Beaufort Saunders, but Harold Saunders was not the father of Elaine Zelia Saunders, later known as Elaine Saunders Pritchard.
Apr-17-16  luftforlife: The AP Archive contains a fifty-second British Movietone newsreel clip, BM5252, dated March 25, 1937, that may include footage of this game, or footage of Elaine Zelia Saunders playing her father. However, I cannot get the clip to play.
