Aug-12-06  rjsolcruz: where is chernev's analysis?
Premium Chessgames Member
Sally Simpson: As mentioned this is a doubler of Von Scheve vs Teichmann, 1907 without the moves 8.a5 Ba7.

This makes a difference because in the actual game as used by Chernev, game 1, 'Logical Chess.'

von Scheve resigned and it has been proved that White has at the least a perpetual with Bxf7+.

One of the lines in the perpetual from the original game gets to here.

Kc6 Qd5+ then Kd7 Qf5+ then Kc6 etc etc...

However in this game without a pawn on a5

There is no perpetual, the BK escapes via c6 and b6.

So where did this doubler come from? (if indeed it is the doubler - it could be the actual game - very unlikely but it certainly would not be the first time an extra move and been sneaked in.)
