Apr-01-12 | | SuperPatzer77: Hey, chessfolks! Today is April Fool's Day!! Puck is for ice hockey games. Puck isn't a part of the chess game. LOL LOL. Way to go, Troll!!!

Apr-01-12 | | Memethecat: Whites 7Bf4 is obviously a mistake, a better continuation is 7. Ne4 Bb8 8. Qxd8+ Kxd8 9. Nxc5 Nf6 10. Bg5 Ke7 11. O-O-O h6 12. Bf4 Neg4 13. Bxb8 Rxb8 14. Nh3 b6 15. Re1+ Be6 with a slight advantage & a better chance of controlling the squares beneath the bridge. |
Apr-01-12 | | Qxf7: Queenlover: Puck was the main character in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Also...
Y U NO PLAY GOOD MOVES??? |
Apr-01-12
 | | Penguincw: Wow. White got fooled, sort of. |
Apr-01-12 | | waustad: What fools these mortals be. |
Apr-01-12 | | SuperPatzer77: <sleepyirv: For those not aware of internet memes, this is a reference to the "troll face." Google it if you like.> <sleepyirv> Yeah, Troll's face is scary-looking!! Chessfolks, if you don't believe us, you try to click on "Troll" on the top of this page "Puck vs Troll". You'll take a look at the lovely picture of Troll LOL LOL - (Psst, don't scream when you see that Troll cartoon - OK?) SuperPatzer77 |

Apr-01-12 | | master of defence: 9. Nd5?? 9. Qe2 would have much better. |
Apr-01-12 | | lemaire90: Great pun for April fools too ! |
Apr-01-12 | | RestlessLife: this pun literally made me "lol", thank you for the amusing pun CG |
Apr-01-12 | | jovack: hahahaha I can't believe that they actually named the game that :) |
Apr-01-12 | | mj29479: Was this game played on 01st April 1961...you know what this day means :P |
Apr-01-12 | | master of defence: I don“t know if this happens in your countries, but in my country 1st of abril is considered the day of lie. |
Apr-01-12 | | drpoundsign: yup computers were pretty dumb back then. To think whenever I play Sicilian as Black I get whacked |
Apr-01-12
 | | Domdaniel: "The day of Lie", eh.
I always knew Odd Lie would have his day.
Puck -- no relation to the ice hockey thing, sports fans -- is an impish sprite in Shakespeare's 'Midsummer Night's Dream'. The name Puck is related to the Irish 'Pooka'. But letting the Troll actually *win*? What kind of example does that set? Yes, problem. Heh. |
Apr-01-12
 | | HeMateMe: i think Shaekesperian puns are too deep for most of us. Why can't Spiderman and Batman comic books be used, instead? |
Apr-01-12
 | | WannaBe: It is better to have pun'd and groan'd than to have not punted on fourth down. (And 8 to go) |
Apr-01-12 | | Oceanlake: After many hours of consideration, I deem 6. Nf3 a better move. |
Apr-01-12
 | | WannaBe: The obvious problem is that white did not play 2. Ke2. If white had played the above mentioned move, the whole game would have been over by the third move, e.g. 3. Qxd8# |
Apr-01-12 | | Julian713: Puck is the closest thing to a "troll" one can find in Shakespeare, so that makes this pun awesome on several levels :D |
Apr-02-12
 | | kevin86: This game reminds me of a knight/queen double check/mate my Chernev against Miller. |
Nov-23-12 | | Sem: <HeMateMe> Why be satisfied with mediocrity? |
Nov-23-12
 | | HeMateMe: ok....one pawn sac not a summer maketh? |
Nov-27-12 | | Sem: <HeMateMe> LOL. Thanks!
T' is a curious game that can so absorb its players. |
Aug-07-15 | | Troll Games dot com: Troll is killing it. |
Jul-28-17
 | | MKD: What would be Black's continuation if White plays dxc5? |
