Kibitzer's Corner
May-28-03  Anotherwrongmove: A quick mate is on the way if Kg x f7. White just plays N to g5 with a check, positions his queen at b3 and bingo. The king's pawn is no good because of the night on d7.
Mar-03-04  D.A. KALIM: If black avoids the mate the threat is Ne6 winning the queen.
Dec-20-04  notyetagm: Standard trap in the Modern Opening with White ♗c4, ♘f3 and Black ♘d7.
Sep-11-05  nfazli: if 8..Kf8 9qb+ and mate to follow
May-08-11  YoungEd: If 7...♔f8, White still wins with something like 8. ♘g5 ♘b6 (to avoid the fork on e6) 9. ♕b3 ♕d6 10. ♗xg6 e6 (to stop Qf7++); Black is down a couple of pawns with a poor position. So I guess giving up wasn't premature.
Sep-29-12  Wyatt Gwyon: Started taking up the Sokolsky recently. Actually a really, really fun opening. The positions that arise are often bizarre and once in a while, something like this happens (sometimes for black though).
Oct-14-14  balkanboy: If 7. ... Kxf7 8. Ng5+ Kf8 9.Ne6+
Nice
