Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-07-06  T Ciddasselepoh: I was wondering about what white would do if black had played 31...Nd5 instead of Ng4. I figure that maybe if 31...Nd5 then 32.Rxd5. Then if 32...exd5 33.Bxa6 followed by 34.Re1+. Or if 32...Bxe2 33.Re1 Ba6 34.Rc5 threatening d5.

If you have any corrections on this please let me know. Thanks.

Aug-07-06  Petrocephalon: Looks correct as far as I can see, T Cidda.

Another variation after 31..Nd5 32.Rxd5 Bxe2 might be 33.Qf6 Rg8 34.R(5)xa5

Aug-07-06  T Ciddasselepoh: The funny thing is, when I thought about that line I was thinking 33.Qf6 though attractive, would be unplayable because of 33...Kd7. I forgot that white's rook is still on d5! so he can play 34.Qxf7+. Thanks for pointing that out.
