<Note "refuted" I know this isn't true, but it certainly has been proven that it is not an opening one choses if you want to keep the advantage as White.>

I believe a good chessplayer must think of the consequences of its move for the other side. Well it eliminates getting traped.

The tournament book noted that a certain <Mr. Mayer> played the same move (8...Bb4??) against Smith in round 14.
