Oct-16-04  Knight13: 7. O-O?? is a big mistake. It's hard to see this trick anyway.

Chessical: Apart from the one move trap, which if overlooked wins a piece for a pawn, is this variation any good for Black? Black pushes Q-side pawns instead of attending to his K-side development.

If: <7.a3> g6 8.Be3 Bg7 9.0-0 Nf6 10.e5 dxe5 11.Nxe5, White has a promising position.

tpstar: The game continuation should only lose the exchange = 8. Qxa6 Bxa6 9. Nd1 Bxf1 10. Kxf1 where White has zero compensation. The database suggests 3. c3, then 3 ... Nc7 (to avoid 4. Bxa6) and Black might try for a Hippo formation with ... g6 & ... d5, although that didn't happen here = M Perunovic vs M Markovic, 2001 Otherwise this example confirms the adage "bad opening, bad game."
