Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-27-04  PaulKeres: This is the nearest game in the data base similar to a game I won with: <1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 Bf5 4. Nf3 h6 >, now instead of playing 5. Be2 as this young lad did, I played <5. Bd3>, asking for the Bishop swop, which Black audibly sighed about (it was an OTB game), exploiting his lack of development. I went on to win convincingly, he resigned on move 19. Any views on this? <Drukenknight> you said you liked to see the beginning of games, any views? Incidently game went on to <5...Bxd3 6. Qxd3>, if you want to know more let me know. In conclusion I actually think 4...h6 is perhaps a ?! move. By the way I do lose many games, but when I do I usually know what I did wrong so no need to kibitz for advice / views. Also I like to learn from games I win as well (now my opponent made more obvious mistakes than this one, but this could be perhaps the first little chink ?) Incidently I'm also interested in anyones views on 2. Nf3 (which is quite unusual, but I like it), and even more (perhaps even dubious) move 3. e5 that I played. i.e what reponses you would make to these?

sea7kenp: <WhiteRook48>, Nf3 would definitely have given White's Queen some breathing room!
