Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-02-03  bishop: The innocuous looking 6...Bg7 is proven to be wrong.
Apr-02-03  actual: 6...Nc6 instead
Apr-03-03  Cyphelium: 6.- Bg7 is not necessarily wrong. What's wrong is 8. - Bg4??.

After 7. e5 dxe5 8. fxe5, black can actually play 8.- Nfd7 and it's not so easy to demonstrate an easy advantage for white, as I know from playing the Levenfish quite a lot. For example: 9. e6 Ne5 10. Bb5+ Nbc6 11. exf7+ Kxf7 12. 0-0+ Bf6 and black seems ok.

Black can also avoid playing 7.- dxe5 and play 7. -Nh5 instead. After 8. Bb5+ Bd7 9. e6 fxe6 10. Nxe6 Bxc3+ 11. bxc3 and the old books only give 11.- Qa5? here, but on the ICC people always play 11.- Qc8 and it seems pretty ok to me.

Aug-04-03  ongyj: Perhaps I can recommend a few moves that lead to complication, say 8...Nfd7 9.e6?! fxe6 10.Nxe6 maybe further 10...Bxc3 11.bxc3 11...Qa5 or 11...Qb6 and 12.Qd4? No guarantee or whatsoever though:(
Feb-22-20  sea7kenp: In the final Position, if Black takes the Knight, he loses his Queen. If he moves his King, he loses his Queen, on the way to being Checkmated.
Feb-22-20  sea7kenp: Addendum to prior Kibitz: Black has to take the Knight with his Pawn. If he takes it with the Bishop, it's still Mate!
