  Sneaky: 20.Rxf6! very nice shot.
Apr-14-09  True2theGame: I think 20.Rxf6! is quite sharp here... It's like something you would see from the black side of an open Sicilian. I could not see the forced mating net in 6 that Zuk saw, but I still would have played move 20 the same.

Pawn and Two: <stoy> See the site www.chessarch.com for game annotations and match information. This site states, <On the 29th move M. Rosenthal exhausted his second hour, and according to the strict regulations, he would have make his next move instantaneously.>

Zukertort then offered an exception to the time limit rule by offering a few minutes grace, but Rosenthal, in view of the unavoidable mate, preferred to resign at once.

Zukertort won this match by a score of +7-1=11.

May-18-20  MrCalculater: I have calculated the position before the sacrifice as 1.Rxf6 gxf6 2.Qh5 Be6 3.Bc2 Bxg3 4.hxg3 Qxg3+ 5.Kh1 Rad8 6.Bd2 Qh3+ 7.Qxh3 Bxh3 or 1. Rxf6 gxf6 2. Qh5 Qd7 3. Bd2 Kh8 4. Qh4 Re4 5. Qxf6+ Kg8 6. Qg5+ Kh8 7. Bxd5, in both positions, white is better.
