Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-27-05  ArturoRivera: why fxe4?, thats such a blunder, changes the queen for only a rook and a minor piece, but the rook will be tied to defend the king, bad move i think
Jan-27-05  Saruman: <AR> I dont think it was so bad, given the limited possibilities. Consider instead 24.-♘f3+ 25.♘xf3 ♖xf3 26.♕d8+ ♖f8 and its not unlikely that black will survive.
Jan-28-05  ArturoRivera: sorry saruman, i think i didnt make my point (thats why i always have toi put the numbers), i was talking about: why 20.-...fxe4? opening the line for the doubled rooks
Jan-28-05  Saruman: <AR> I was also talking about that. Given my line its not unlikely that black gets drawing chances. If black instead would have played 20.-♕h4?! 21.♘g2! ♕xh3? 22.♖f3! ♘xf3 23.♖xf3 traps the queen.
Jan-28-05  ArturoRivera: oh. you have a good point!
Jan-28-05  Saruman: Basically the point with 20.-fxe4 is that the pressure on f5 was unbearable for black.
