Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-09-03  Cerebrate2006: am i missing something, or is this game messed up. Black is up a pawn, then he resigns, kind of akward
Oct-09-03  seoulmama: No, I he resigns ( presumably ) because White can take his bishop.
Oct-09-03  seoulmama: Oh, I'll take it back - White too has a bishop hanging.
Oct-09-03  seoulmama: He resigns because White wins after Qd8+. All variations are hopeless for Black.
Oct-09-03  AdrianP: <Celebrate2006> B's not going to be up a pawn for long:-

44. Qd8+ Qe7 (44 ...Kg6 45. Be8+ and W swipes the a8 Bishop) 45. Qxb6+ Kg7 (45...Kf7 46. Bg4 is equally bad for B) 46. Qxa5 Qxd7 47. Qxa8 and the two outside W passed pawns should be sufficient for W to win (W's a pawn up).

I'm not sure that I would have resigned this early though, so I may have missed something better.
