Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-03-04  babakova: Nice one.. Though its hard to take blindfold games seriously
Oct-25-04  Larsenb3: Morozevich's crowd pleasing style actually prevails in this game!
Oct-25-04  Spassky69: Yeah and he's done it 5 times too even when he was a teenager against Anand. Not to mention everyone else in the top ten derrrrrrrrrrrrr.........
Oct-27-04  Larsenb3: I meant being down two points in the final position by not protecting his knight, I would have done

1.Nxf7! ...Kxf7
2.d6 Rd7
3.c6 Ra7
4.c7 Ne6

Basically the same position.

Feb-13-05  mohd rafi fan: Can someone please tell me what is the point of blindfold games?

Do they serve any practical purpose at all? It is absolutely absurd that a player's rating can fluctuate becase of blindfold games!

Feb-13-05  Shams: <mohd rafi fan> well, the players` ratings are theirs to risk as they choose. but aside from that, are you sure that blindfold games (which I think are very useful for visualization exercise) are counted against classical ratings? I`d be surprised. check FIDE
Feb-13-05  iron maiden: That's why it doesn't. Blindfold games have never counted for rating points so far as I know.
Feb-13-05  mohd rafi fan: Oh sorry ... Yes you're right.

I still find it quite ridiculous that two great players can sit down at a table to do what ... play a blindfold game!

Apr-03-06  beenthere240: If there's a purse to be won, why not?
Apr-03-06  sagahelten: Blindfold and rapid games are NOT rated!!!!
Oct-25-06  lordazol4: Single pawns is weazkness.d5 pawn is weak this weakness is enought for Moro
