Apr-23-04  InspiredByMorphy: Maybe 34.Nd4 would have served Morphy better. 35.Nxd4 Qxd4+ If 36.Kg3 Qe5+ 37.Kf2 Qxh2 or if Kf1/Ke2 then Bc4+ wins the queen, or if Ke1 Qg1+ wins.
Feb-09-09  Pawn Ambush: Two great masters play the same line.

A Akmentin vs Tal, 1954

Mar-24-14  RookFile: This game is sharp. I like it. It very much looks like a modern, dynamic game.
Mar-24-14  morfishine: <InspiredByMorphy> 34...Nd4 34.Nxd4 Qxd4 36.Kg3 <36...Qe5+???> doesn't work due to 37.Qxe5

Maybe you meant 36...Qd6+

Dec-19-14  GoldenBird: 6. Be2 was a questionable move indeed, far inferior to the active Bc4 or Bf4, as it does allow for the c5 move to be played. And thus, black will have a strangle hold over the dark squares in the centre and white will have a positional advantage of black's backward d6 pawn and weak d5 square

MissScarlett: First publication of this game was Boden's column in the <Field> on July 24th; he gives <36.Bd3 Ne5> <And after several more moves the game terminated in a draw.>.

The next day, Lowenthal in the <Era> has <51...Kh6> as the last move.

Aug-16-20  Jean Defuse: ...

Lowenthal himself later admitted:

"After the first game, I went home saying to myself, 'Well, this Morphy is not so terrible after all!'"

OhioChessFan: 29. f3 is plain weird. What's the point?
Sep-12-22  takebackok: 29.f3 Trying an odd way to make the threat Qd8+ & Qxd4 work?
