Honza Cervenka: Good attack against King left in the centre.
May-03-08  IntoTheWilderness: 22. Kg1 was a wasted move. I don't know why he didn't see it, but Kg2 was his only good option and he ended up being forced to it having lost one tempo.
May-03-08  IntoTheWilderness: EDIT: 22. Rh1 Qe1 23. Kg2 would have bought some more time for Lasa...

PawnSac: A well deserved pasting for a very foolish game by white. After 11. ..0-0-0 black has completed his development and is ready to break through the center. White on the other hand gave up his beautiful light squared B and has only the Q developed. 8 of his 11 were pawn moves!

Mate threats abound...

24.Qd7 (24.Qg3? Qf1#) Qf1+ 25.Kg3 Qf3#

or the longer 24. ..Qf2+ (25.Kh3 Qf3#) 25.Kh1 Bf3+ Rg2 Qxg2#

the best white can do is hold out another 10 moves by massive material sacrifices: 24. Bd2 Qf2+ 25. Kh1 Bf3+ 26. Qxf3 Qxf3+ 27. Rg2 Rxf4 28. Kg1 Nxa1 29. Be1 Qf1+ 30. Kh2 Qxe1 31. Rd2 Rxh4+ 32. Kg2 Qh1+ 33. Kg3 Rxg5#

perfidious: Hmm....White develops a minor piece, then forgoes the others in favour of pawn snatching whilst his opponent gets everything out of the box. A fine recipe for disaster, which came calling as an express train to valuetown: population, White.

That said, <PrawnSnack: A well deserved pasting for a very foolish game by white....> strikes me as coming across as a trifle smarmy, if not uncharacteristic of that poster in his role as supreme arbiter of good taste in these pages.

Aug-26-22  Jean Defuse: ...

In 'Chess Studies', p.129, game 753 & 'Handbuch des Schachspiels' (1843), p. 214 Tassilo won with the black pieces.
